this is the first image that i took and the way that this photo was took was that it was against a plain white wall however it wasn't took very professionally as there was no lighting structure that was used as the only software that i had was a camera. the pose is what i want it to look like on my front cover as i took inspiration from a magazine that i had been analysing as the genre matched. the clothing in this image isn't exactly what i will want my model to be in as the colours are very dark however this is okay for a test shot as this wont be my final model and i will be in control of the clothing. the makeup is of a style that i find interesting so i will hope to use a similar style in my final design. the pose itself looks very simple but it doesn't give an impression on the models emotions. The camera angle is of a medium close and the eye line of this image shows that the eye line is in the top third to show direct address to the reader.

this image was taken in the photography studio with the lighting structure in progress. i chose to have three people in the image as it is how i want my contents page to look like as i am having a band on that page, the only difference that is recognisable is that there is a male in my test shot and i am not wanting one in my final image. i took the image from a height to see what it would look like in a range of shots, this looks like a good pose but it wasn't my initial idea but because the eye line is in the middle it looks like the models will be on the same eye line as the readers and this would be good as the readers don't want to think that the models are in a higher position to them. personally i think that the background is too dark on this image however when it comes to my final design i will need to make sure that i use photoshop to lighten the background as it will make it look much more professional.

this image was taken outside and is at the location that i want it to be taken and the reasons behind taking my image here is that i could check the lighting as there was no lighting structure put in place here. the thing i would do differently to this image is that i would only focus on the top halves of the body as there is a difference in the wall and i don't want this to be vissable. the pose is how i want it as i want the tallest in the middle so that they look more dominant and the two others to be beside in a pose that is exactly the same. i would prefer the models to be closer in together but this will be something that i will check for in my final production. the thing that i would do differently to this image is that i would have the models standing face on as then it would look more professional and look more similar to my flat plans. i need to make sure that each of my models is doing the same pose as here it only looks like there are two models doing the same pose and i need them all to, to make it look professional.

this is an image that i want my final image to look like however it isn't in the preferred location but i will show the models this image and will tell them how i want them. the models are doing a pose/stance that isn't usually shown in magazines so by doing this it will separate me from them and give me a USP. the camera shot is showing the image as a long shot and initially i didn't want this but because my initial idea isn't realistic but this image looks professional but the only thing is that i would need to crop it as i would like it to be a medium close up and this would only require the image to be up to the waist.

this image was my first try at using the camera however it looks very dull and the reasons behind this are that i didn't have the camera/lighting structure set up. however the pose is what i want it to look like as the models are close to each other and this makes them look like a band. because the image itself is dark you cant really see the style of make up that they have on and this is what would catch the attention of the readers. the clothing is something that i would change as one of the models (left) has a different style to the others so she looks more 'indie' than the others and although this is good i need to make sure that they all look the same as they are representing a general music magazine.

this image was taken at the start of the year but the thing that i like about this one is the style and the colours of the clothing that she is wearing as it shows that she is daring and isn't suited to one music genre. i will take notice of this clothing as i need my models to be in bright colours to represent their difference in the music industry and bright colours usually attract the readers attentions. the pose is something that i would change as i wouldn't know where to use this image as it just looks plain so i would need to make sure that my model was doing something other than smiling as we want the readers to be intrigued by the facial expressions shown.
